Seeing success on YouTube boils down to two very specific things: attracting new viewers and keeping the ones you have. So how do you build a loyal community? How can you ensure that the people who watch your videos turn into loyal subscribers? How do you even see where your subscribers are coming from?

In this week’s episode, I’m going to teach you how to find your analytics in the audience tab and use those analytics to hone your YouTube strategy. 

When you have more new viewers than returning viewers, it means that YouTube is pushing out your content and exposing you to new viewers, but also, these viewers either aren’t translating into subscribers, or they aren’t translating into subscribers that come back. 

When you have more returning viewers than new viewers, it means your subscribers are really loyal, which is AMAZING, but you’re struggling to grow and be exposed to new viewers.

Part of what I do in my Zero to Influence Bootcamp and with my private clients involves looking at channels and IMMEDIATELY figuring out what we need to do right now to get this channel to grow. In this episode, I’m going to talk about 5 quick and easy ways you can significantly improve your channel right now!

1. Optimize your best performing video

Link to another video of yours in the description at the top and add more in the description, both from other creators and from you that are related to your video.

2. Optimize Adsense

Be strategic of where you place your ads

3. Spruce up your backdrop

Your channel’s backdrop is a bigger deal than you think - it sets the environment for your content and the ambiance for your viewer. Don’t just sit in front of a blank wall and don’t sit in front of a messy room!

4. Do thumbnail audit of your channel

Look at the videos that should be performing better, and look at your click-through rate and the average view percentage. 

5. Add playlists to your channel

Creates bingeable content and creates another opportunity to search for something and find your channel.

These are things you can do RIGHT NOW that can help you earn more, grow your subscribers, and make overall improvements to the success of your channel.

Are you struggling to find your Youtube niche? There are A LOT of so-called “rules” and misconceptions out there on what your niche should be and how to go about finding it.

Does your niche need to be something that you’re passionate about? What about if you followed your skills and your successes instead of your passions? 

Isn’t a niche just a topic? NO! It’s a segment of a larger market that can be defined by its own unique needs, preferences, or identity. Your niche is not just what to talk about, it’s the people who are interested in it, their demographics, the location, and more. It’s not just enough to be a “beauty” channel… you have to dig deeper. Who are your viewers? What do they want? Where do they live? Think about the attributes when finding your niche.

When thinking about a niche, take into consideration the WHOLE picture and what YOU have to bring to YouTube! 

Action breeds clarity. Don’t know your niche yet? That’s ok! Start your channel and start making videos, and the more you do that, the more you will evolve and figure it out.
